Environmental Policy

Convex Malaysia Sdn Bhd acting as the managing agent of Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre provides meetings, incentives, conventions and event management services to both local and international customers.

Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre is a five-level purpose built facility. The Centre encompasses over 33,659 sqm of flexible multi-purpose function space in the heart of the iconic Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) precinct. Its facilities include two auditoria – Plenary Hall and Plenary Theatre, eight exhibition halls, a Grand Ballroom, Banquet Hall, three Conference Hall and twenty five meeting rooms.

Our ultimate goal is to uphold the long-term sustainable environmental protection objectives within the business events sector in Malaysia. Our approach to achieving the objectives start with our commitment to complying with relevant Malaysian environmental legislations and other requirements. Where feasible, we strive to exceed expectations set by Malaysian laws.

It is our policy to identify activities and services with the potential for significant environmental impacts on the public, our team members, suppliers, and contractors. We aim to control and minimize identified significant environmental aspects and impacts by implementing effective control systems in our operational activities, wherever practical.

Our overarching goals encompass continual compliance to environmental legislations, minimizing potential environmental impact by identifying risks and opportunities, understanding stakeholder needs and expectations, promoting resource efficiency, delivering awareness education amongst our team members and continuous improvement in enhancing environmental performance through regular reviews and audits.

By leveraging the Earth Check program alongside its mandated benchmarked performance standards and aligning our objectives with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, we integrate measurable goals and targets into our business strategies and decision-making processes, fostering the adoption of best practices in sustainable environmental protection management.

Special considerations will be given to employing and empowering local employees, and wherever possible sustainable products and services will be sourced locally in accordance with Fair Trade principles.

We are committed to publishing our environmental policy and the outcomes of our annual environmental performance evaluations through consistent and impactful communication with our guests, employees, suppliers, contractors, the local community, and other stakeholders. We also strongly encourage our external parties’ participation in our environmental initiatives, whenever possible, to contribute to our overarching goal of bolstering the long-term sustainable environmental protection of the business events sector. We urge our external parties to read, understand, and uphold the principles outlined in our environmental policy.

This policy will undergo annual review with updates made to reflect our continued dedication to environmental stewardship.
