Sustainability Policy

Convex Malaysia Sdn Bhd acting as the managing agent of Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (“KLCC”) provides meetings, incentives, conventions and event management services to both local and international customers.

As Malaysia’s premier purpose-built venue, we are committed to preserving and safeguarding the environment. This involves reducing our environmental footprint and optimising resources utilisation. Our specific focus areas include emissions management, energy conservation, water and waste management as well as resource efficiency. These efforts encompass not only our internal operations but also extend to the goods and services we purchase. Sustainability criteria including environmental performance, human rights commitments and fair-trade principles that are central to our business decisions.

At the Centre, we prioritise people, from our employees to local communities. Our focus is on nurturing an engaged, skilled workforce and delivering exceptional customer service. We implement social initiatives for human resources, safety & health, and wellbeing aligning with our long-term growth and policies compliances. We are dedicated to community empowerment, fostering unity and trust through active engagement and development projects to provide a positive social contribution.

The Centre operates in an ethical and transparent manner, from complying with applicable laws and regulations which govern our operations. to pursuing balanced and profitable growth through responsible business practices, and, wherever possible, sustainable products and services will be sourced locally in accordance with Fair Trade principles. To assist in this commitment, we have implemented environmental sustainability systems in line with international standards of ISO14001, ISO45000, and EarthCheck criteria, and aligned our sustainability stewardship with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

The Centre have an oversight responsibility to achieving sustainable value to stakeholders through its policies, objectives and strategies, with the support of the Sustainability Steering Committee and the Sustainability Working Committee working on sustainability matters and initiatives. We are committed to implementing, measuring, tracking and reporting our sustainability efforts. We will integrate such initiatives into our performance management as part of sustainability performance on a periodic basis. This includes annual monitoring and reporting through the EarthCheck performance benchmarking.

This Sustainability Policy applies to all employees including casual staff of KLCC and is for the purpose of communicating to our business partners, customers, contractors, suppliers, trading and joint-venture partners and other stakeholders on our approach to Sustainability. Where KLCC does not have operating control, we encourage our stakeholders to demonstrate the commitments reflected in this Policy.
